It is more consistent defensively than Armes de l’Ordre, but the margin between Kyrian, Necrolord, and even Night Fae in terms of defense is very small, so that's not really a huge deal outside of the absolute highest tier of Mythic+ pushing. Its 10-second duration makes it a mediocre option as a burst damage cooldown for lining up with other effects like potions, Bloodlust, and trinkets. In Mythic+, its short cooldown makes it a reliable defensive cooldown, but in raids it is clearly a weaker bonus. The Necrolord Covenant ability Breuvage poussière-d’os is generally the second-strongest Covenant ability available to Brewmaster Monks, and its biggest downsides are that it has a short duration, and the damage output is noticeably weaker. That being said, Necrolord is an okay alternative.

It's tremendous at dealing burst damage, it's a reasonably simple and easy skill to use, and it's always very good. Mikanikos' end-tree trait Accélérateur d’anima jaillissant supercharges the power of Armes de l’Ordre, increasing its damage value and reducing its cooldown. Méditation de combat provides an enormous amount of stat budget that overlaps with your two major offensive cooldown ( Armes de l’Ordre and Invocation de Niuzao, le Buffle noir), and that's terrific. Pelagos' and Mikanikos' soulbind trees are good, and the whole Covenant works well. Kyrian is arguably the simplest, all-around best Covenant available to Brewmaster Monks thanks to Armes de l’Ordre.
